Mauricio Barcellos Almeida Mauricio B. Almeida has been acting as Associate Professor in the Department of Information Theory and Management at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (www.ufmg.br/english/). He acquired his PhD in Information Science at UFMG in 2006. In 2010, he took up a postdoctoral position at State University of New York at Buffalo (www.buffalo.edu), with the team Ontology Research Group (http://org.buffalo.edu/) in the New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences (www.bioinformatics.buffalo.edu/). His main research interest is Knowledge Representation, Applied Ontologies. He also develops research in Information Systems, Modeling, Information Organization and medical vocabularies.
