Thomas Krichel is Saarland-born digital librarian. He was a lecturer in Economics at the University of
Surrey, where he created the NetEc collection of first gopher, then web-based services in economics in 1993, and coordinated the creation of the RePEc digital library in 1997. He also founded the RePEc Author Service and the “NEP: New Economics Papers” service. Between 2001 and 2012, he was a professor at the Palmer School of Library and Information Science of Long Island University. He is available for consultancy work.
